Acting and Writing Coaching

Has the cat got your tongue?
Acting and Writing Coaching can help!

Every time it’s your turn to speak, hope turns to terror.

You’re definitely not alone. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, speaking anxiety, or a fear of public speaking, affects nearly three out of every four people.

Nothing is more frustrating when you want to come across as the rock star you are, but the words come out in a jumbled mess – or not at all – as if you’re frozen in the longest second of time ever.

Even though you know precisely what you want to say, your body doubts you and makes you feel like you’re going to fail, regardless of how much you know or how trained you are at your craft.

You might lose courage and feel depressed, slip down the rabbit hole of depression, and wonder why this happens over and over, and seemingly only to you!

Failure is not an option, and drama therapy can help.

You’re already successful at many things – but perhaps this one area is the key to even more extraordinary achievement in your field. You need to master it and move on, so you can soar even higher.

That’s where I come in.

I can help you figure out “what you don’t know you don’t know” – that “old business” from previous relationships, or even your childhood, that’s still interfering with your inner voice.

We’ll quiet that “Quit now!” and replace it with “I’ve got this!”

And, when you’ve got this, everyone else will know it, too!

Working with monologues, psychodrama, and role play, we’ll discover the actual cause of your social anxiety and then use the framework of drama therapy to work it out – in a safe environment where it is impossible to fail.

You can bring in your own presentations or scripts, or we can work from an archive of written material that you relate to.

You’ve earned the right to feel confident! Now, just enjoy it!

Many of us are so comfortable with rejection that we resign ourselves to experiencing it – repeatedly.

We’ve learned to cope with how it feels, so we allow ourselves to fall comfortably into a pattern. We content ourselves that it’s okay to fail – that it’s just “how things are.”

It IS okay to fail – but to move forward, you must view your failure as an opportunity to learn and grow.

You can’t use failure as an excuse.

When that happens, you’re not afraid of failure. YOU ARE AFRAID OF SUCCESS!

The fear of actually accomplishing your goals can be just as debilitating.

You need to uproot the self-deprecating, self-depriving patterns running the show to break free – once and for all –  from the shackles of under-earning, under-being, and under-performing.

You’ve got this!

And I can help!

By working with a skilled drama therapist, you’ll have the advantage of working through the oppositional forces within you to get to the core of who you are and why the world needs to hear from you – now more than ever.
