About

My approach is simple:

Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, Healthy Spirit

Our first step is to talk – to see if my approach is the right one for you! We’ll start by chatting about how you’re feeling and where you want to grow.

From there, if we’re a good fit, we can decide how best to get started.

In our initial session, I’ll ask you many questions to create a launchpad for future work. We’ll establish a clear sense of direction about where you want to improve, and we’ll check back frequently to see where we’re making progress.

Change the way you think about therapy… and yourself.

With Drama Therapy, you get to lose yourself in the creative state of mind, where a new perspective emerges from deep within.

Once I create a plan and we start working together, you’ll see the benefits of how this work can help you – this is where the real fun begins!

How does it work?

Healing is powerful.

And it’s a lot easier when you use a process you can trust – a process that allows you to maintain full control of your actions. In this interactive approach, you get to choose the role you play in your own recovery.

Drama Therapy works on a deeper level of consciousness. You don’t have to want to talk about it to make it work. All you need to do is to be willing to have some fun. Now, tell me, how hard is that?

For some, reconnecting with the idea of fun is challenging. And that’s okay. Together, we will create a safe environment for you to explore your feelings.

Don’t worry! No one will judge you on your performance! Instead, I’ll be guiding you toward a more positive outcome.

It’s not just for kids.

Drama Therapy isn’t just for kids or those who want to play their way into enlightenment – it’s also a practical approach to personal growth.

Once-too-complicated decisions become easier. Impossible relationships work better. Uncontrollably dominant behaviors loosen their grip.

Possibility for wellness becomes a reality.

Envision this healing for yourself – and then envision the world that will benefit from your healing.

About Me

Where It All Started

I’m here to help you every step of the way.

As a filmmaker and creative artist, I have been through trauma and emerged on the other side. I understand what it feels like to hurt physically and emotionally, to be shy and misunderstood.

All my life experiences have led me to this moment as a drama therapist, so I can help you realize your full potential.

My professional life started as a film student at the University of Michigan and then grew into a career as an independent filmmaker and actor. While in Hollywood, I experienced first-hand the sexism that so many other women also experienced and discovered the power of the creative arts as a form of healing.

What Inspired Change

Art therapy, music therapy, creative writing, and performing all worked to advance my self-realization through self-expression. I was so blown away by how well these tools worked to resolve my post-traumatic stress that I pursued Drama Therapy as a path toward helping others achieve catharsis.

I moved to New York in 2005 and completed my Master of Arts degree in Drama Therapy and psychology theory from Lesley University, traveling to and from Boston to complete my training in Transpersonal Drama Therapy.

In 2011, I suffered a bicycle accident that shattered my right ankle. After hospitalization and two intensive surgeries to reconstruct my pylon fracture, I moved back home to recover in Michigan where I would be closer to family. After all, a fifth floor walk-up apartment and the daily subway steps in NYC were no longer in the cards!  In my year of recovery, I opened myself to the possibility of an integrated, holistic medical plan including reiki, aquatic therapy, yoga therapy, occupational therapy, and massage therapy in addition to physical therapy. I started with reiki because I knew that until I cleared away the negative energy from my spirit, my hope for a full physical recovery would be that much harder. I share this story with you because, although our injuries and recovery path may differ, I understand what it takes to heal, and prosper, from what feels like insurmountable physical and emotional pain – from a physical injury, from transitioning a way of life, and from the fear of not knowing what the future holds.

That’s why I can say with confidence my approach works, and Drama Therapy can help you in healing your mind, body and soul!

Where I Emerged – Education and Credentials

In 2019, I completed the clinical hours and requirements to achieve the highest credential as a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) by the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA).

In 2020, I added certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP).

In 2021, I gained additional training and certification as a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP) to better understand how drama therapy and my approach can help children and adults recover from PTSD and emotional pain.  When trauma happens at a young age it can affect us into adulthood, so the more I know about early trauma and how it impacts our lives, the better I can understand the root cause of problems as they emerge now and later in life.

I have used my training with a variety of clients to help them achieve their goals for reclaiming their lives – from children and adults with post-traumatic stress, to acting students struggling with stage fright, elders with memory loss from Alzheimer’s and dementia, cancer survivors, and auto accident victims with PTSD and traumatic brain injury.

How Can I Help You?

I feel blessed to be doing this amazing work, and I sincerely hope to help you unblock your own power of healing, self-realization, creativity and enlightenment.
